Community Garden

Garden Plots. Wild Compass Garden Club participants will have the first choice of plots. Remaining plots will then be open to the community. All plots are raised beds. There are 4'x4' beds and 8'x4' plots. Depending on the level of interest will determine how many plots community members can have.

Garden Agreement. If you are selected to be a community gardener, you have committed to maintaining your plot(s) for the ENTIRE growing season. You must plant by June 15th and must clean out your plot by October 20th.

Cleanup. EVERYTHING (plants, supports, markers, etc.) must be removed by October 20th.

Neighborliness. The garden is a community. Be considerate. Help each other out. Harvest produce only from your plots.

Prohibitions. Perennial plants, trees, shrubs, building materials, carpet, fencing are NOT allowed in the children’s garden. If you have questions ask a Wild Compass staff member.

Tools. Wild Compass will supply basic tools for the garden and a trellis if needed. Please return tools to the garden shed when you are done using them. Clean off tools before putting them away. Report missing or damaged tools to a Wild Compass staff member. Tools are used at the gardener's own risk.

Trash Removal. Anything you bring into the garden you are expected to carry out.

Watering. Water cans will be available for use and there is an outside faucet on the east side of the bathrooms.

Weed Control. This is YOUR garden so you are responsible for grass and weed control in your plot and aisles around your plot. Please refrain from spraying chemicals.

Pets. Pets are not allowed within the garden unless they are a service animal.

Smoking and Alcohol. The Wild Compass Children’s Garden is a tobacco and alcohol free zone.
