At Wild Compass Environmental Education, Garden Club is more than planting seeds, it’s growing confident, curious caretakers of the land.
Our summer-long Garden Club invites young explorers to design, build, and manage their very own garden from the ground up. Campers don’t just plant a plot - they learn how to plan it with purpose, understand soil health, support pollinators, conserve water, and harvest responsibly. From the first draft of their garden map to the final basket of fresh produce, students experience the full life cycle of growing food and the pride that comes with it.
What makes Wild Compass different?
Whole-ecosystem learning. We connect gardening to plants, insects, birds, weather, and soil systems. This helps kids see how their garden fits into the bigger natural world.
Environmental stewardship at our core. Campers practice sustainable methods, learn about native species, composting, and water conservation, and discover how gardening supports both people and wildlife.
Hands-on, minds-on exploration. Beyond tending their beds, students engage in nature-based science investigations, creative expression, and outdoor discovery woven throughout the summer.
Connection & confidence. We prioritize curiosity, responsibility, and teamwork - nurturing not just gardens, but resilient, empowered kids.
By the end of the season, campers don’t just walk away with vegetables, they leave with real-world skills, a deeper understanding of where food comes from, and a stronger connection to the land.
At Wild Compass, we’re not just growing gardens. We’re growing environmental leaders.
