Nature Book Club

Slow down, get curious, and connect through books that deepen our relationship with the natural world.

The Wild Compass Nature Book Club invites adults to gather around thoughtful, nature-centered literature that inspires reflection, conversation, and stewardship. Through shared reading and guided discussion, we explore the ideas, stories, and science that shape how we understand and care for the places we call home.
What to Expect:
Each session centers on a selected nature-themed book and includes:
  • Guided, welcoming discussion led by Wild Compass staff
  • Space for curiosity, questions, and diverse perspectives
  • Connections between the reading and local landscapes, ecology, and conservation
  • No prior expertise is needed, just a love of learning and an interest in the natural world.
Our First Read:
We begin our journey together with A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold, a cornerstone of conservation literature that continues to shape environmental thought today.

All adult book club participants receive a free copy of A Sand County Almanac to start the series.

A curated selection of additional nature-themed titles will be available throughout the program.

A Book Club for Grown-Ups… and Kids Too
While adults gather for book discussion, kids can participate in a Kids Nature Book Club happening at the same time. Children will enjoy hands-on, age-appropriate activities inspired by a book chosen just for their group, making this a meaningful experience for the whole family!

Join the Conversation

Come read, reflect, and grow with us. The Wild Compass Nature Book Club is about more than books, it’s about building connection to nature and to one another.
